Shaping digital citizenship and safety in your school – a strategic approach for school leaders
This workshop will focus on internationally proven tools and processes for schools to use as they review their e-safety policies, practices and programs. The tools and resources which provide the basis for a sustainable approach to digital citizenship and e-safety are: 360 Self Assessment, an Incident Response Tool and Common Sense Media’s P-12 digital literacy and citizenship curriculum.
What you’ll learn:
- How to audit and record your school e-safety provision in the following strands:
- Policy and leadership
- Technical infrastructure
- E-safety accountability
- That the Incident Response Tool provides guidance to school administrators, counsellors and those responsible for pastoral care through the incident management process including: fact-finding, documentation and reporting, and engaging stakeholders who are impacted by the incident.
- How to develop a decision-making framework and action plan to establish a sustainable positive digital culture.
- Educational leaders/counsellors/pastoral care/well-being coordinators: Primary-Elementary, Middle School, Senior Secondary-High School.
